The Community Council was formed in 1969. It organises a variety of recreation, community and social facilities and events including a quarterly magazine - The Chelpin. It also provides financial assistance to other organisations especially with start-up and unexpected costs for which they cannot otherwise have made provision. Membership of the Community Council is open to all residents in the Parish for a small fee, and for those over 16 there is a monthly draw. (First prizes £10 and other cash prizes).
