The playing field is situated on edge of the village, surrounded by trees, overlooking the River Orwell.

It is accessed via a bridleway opposite the Playgroup in Woodlands. It has a small childrens play area with swings, slide, seesaw & there is also football pitch which is available to hire (if you are interested contact PlayingField@Chelmondiston.info.) The sports pavilion contains a kitchen / meeting room and ladies & men’s changing rooms. There is also a basketball net for casual use. The two tennis courts belong to the Chelpin Tennis Club.
